Last week we reviewed what factors may play a role in Lebron James’ next decision the summer of 2014 which you should read here first. The 3 factors that will influence his, and other big time free agents, besides just “talent” is youth, big athleticism and shooting. Over the next week the teams found in the chart below will be subjectively judged on their combination of size with athleticism and their talent of shooters. Click here and you will find objective information regarding the age, as of the Summer of 2014, of the top 5 players on each of the selected teams. This information will be combined with the subjective data to do 2 things: 1) Judge the viability of the team for top free agents, including James and 2) Ranking the teams based on their 5 year future success.

Today’s chart is a very subjective chart. This chart intends to combine relative size and athleticism of  a player. Being a very athletic point guard may lead you to a rating of 5, see John Wall, but being a unathletic big man will keep your rating low, see Tyler Zeller. A basic key: 1 = Unathletic, old, small, 2 = Somewhat athletic and small, tall and unathletic. 3 = Average at both, or high in one area and not as much in the other, 4 = Excellent combination of the two, or superb at one with good at the other, 5 = Extraordinary at one or the other or excellent at both. Feel free to provide your feedback.
