Earlier we mentioned that the Cavs could have some interest in bringing back Daniel Gibson due to his shooting and experience with Mike Brown’s system. Now reports come that Gibson has turned himself in on charges of Second Degree Battery. That Gibson has turned himself in and was not arrested is a positive sign for him. If the police had concern about whether Gibson was dangerous to the community they would have been more likely to seek him out for an arrest.

The alleged incident took place during the Essence festival held earlier this month in New Orleans. No other details have been presented and the report states that Gibson’s lawyer declined comment. We will follow this story as appropriate. This off-season has been full of legal issues with the most major being Aaron Hernandez but also including charges filed against Trent Richardson, Maurice Jones Drew and Adam “Pacman” Jones on the professional level. Ohio State fans are also aware of some of these legal terms in relation to the recent Carlos Hyde and Bradley Roby allegations.
