As we covered earlier MLB has suspended a number of players for 50 games and Alex Rodriguez through 2014. These suspensions will impact the playoff hunt, in which the Cleveland Indians are currently involved, in many facets. We will look at how these suspensions impact the following, click on the team name to skip to that article:

The Orioles had no players suspended.
The Orioles sit 1.5 games behind the Indians for the 2nd Wild Card spot. The Orioles have 16 series remaining with 10 of those series being against teams currently sitting over .500. Their opponents winning percentage sits at .520 the highest of all current competitors. Yet of those 16 series is 2 series, 6 games total, against the New York Yankees who currently sit 3 games behind the Orioles, and just lost Alex Rodriguez and Francisco Cervelli to suspension as well. This should ease their most difficult schedule.
The Indians and Orioles have 1 series against each other. The Indians only have a .481 opponent winning percentage remaining. Easing of their most difficult schedule may bring the 2 opponent winning percentages closer then they appear. With the Indians currently only holding a 1.5 game lead on the Orioles those 6 games could have a huge impact on the Tribe and the Orioles.
