Yesterday for the first time since his injury Cleveland Browns’ rookie 1st Round Pick Barkevious Mingo practiced with the team. Mingo did individual drills but was running on the sideline during sled drills and limited in physical contact. A lung injury is significantly more difficult, and dangerous, to know improvement. While Mingo’s presence would be huge against a somewhat limited Miami Dolphins’ offensive line, the Browns and Mingo must be cautious how the proceed. Since he has missed most of the last 2 weeks or so, even if he is able to play would be extremely limited in both snaps and role.

Starting outside linebackers Paul Kruger and Jabaal Sheard were seen running extra in preparation for playing more downs this week. Mingo was not going to start but DC Ray Horton had plans for Mingo specifically as well as to deploy all 3 pass rushing OLBs in some packages. The loss of Mingo will be minimized by Kruger and Sheard who have had great pre-seasons and have excelled at rushing the passer and holding the edge against the run.

As soon as definite information is available we will keep you up to date.
