With the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs kicking off today, and the Indianapolis Colts playing this evening Cleveland Browns’ fans have things to watch and teams to root against. Based on records only 2 games would impact the Browns pick they traded Trent Richardson to acquire.
Indianapolis Colts vs. New England Patriots
Tonight at 8:15 PM these two teams will lock horns again, this time instead of Peyton Manning versus Tom Brady, Andrew Luck takes the stage across from Brady. The Colts are coming off an amazing 28 point come back against the Kansas City Chiefs while the Patriots sat home, rested up and got ready for their opponent. The narrative following this game may be Rest vs. Rust, but for Browns’ fans the Patriots and former Browns HC Bill Bellichick are now being rooted for once again. A Patriots win puts the Colts into the equation for the draft order.
San Diego Chargers vs. Denver Broncos
Tomorrow the Chargers, who some say got lucky to make the playoffs, face off against the vaunted Broncos. The Broncos, and Peyton Manning specifically, are looking to get past their first playoff game after the crushing defeat last year to the Baltimore Ravens. The Chargers, riding a wave from getting into the playoffs in the last week, upset the Cincinnati Bengals for the right to face their division rival. The Chargers beat the Broncos in Week 15, 27 – 20, after losing in Week 10, 28 -20. The Chargers held the Broncos to 2 of their 3 lowest point totals this year. Browns’ fans are rooting for a Chargers win.
With a Colts loss and a Chargers win the Browns will have the 25th selection. If the Colts lose and the Broncos win the Browns will have the 26th selection. A Colts win means we have this conversation next week looking at picks 29 or 30. Dane Brugler of CBS Sports came to the same conclusion:
For my #Browns followers asking, if the Colts lose tonight, CLE will own either the 25th (if SD wins) or 26th pick (if SD loses)

Are you able to root for these teams based on how it benefits the Browns or do you like the Colts or Broncos and stay loyal to that? Do you even watch the playoffs since the Browns are not in?
