It will be fireworks, hot dogs and freebies this season at Progressive Field. The Indians will play some baseball as well.
For many years the only games that were highly attended involved fireworks, dollar hot dogs and other giveaways or national power teams like the Yankees and Red Sox. For families looking to get the most bang for their buck, fireworks pun intended, this calendar is a great reference point.
It’s hard to give MVP awards of any kind when a team loses by 17 points, so tonight I’ll give it to the Cavalier who played the hardest. Tonight, that was Kyrie Irving, who finished with 27 points on 8-18 shooting, eight assists and only three turnovers in 40 minutes. It wasn’t Irving’s best game and he definitely cooled off after a scoring start, but he was one of two players (along with Luol Deng) to consistently attack and try and make things happen. Pretty much everyone who played tonight had a good moment or two (even Anthony Bennett) but Irving had the most. Yay?
The Cavs did not look great last night so identifying a MVP is hard to do. Yet the team competed, just for short spurts of time. Check out Right Down Euclid’s full write up on the game.
Kyle Shanahan knows plenty about what it takes for an NFL offense to be highly productive.
For that reason, alone, he’s a good choice to become the Browns’ new offensive coordinator. What’s not to like about someone who, in six seasons in that capacity with two teams, has had offenses, passers, receivers, and running backs generate gaudy numbers?
What does Shanahan’s hire mean? We won’t know until we get through free agency and the draft but there is alot of interesting aspects of this hire. The Browns worded this as head coach Mike Pettine hired Shanahan. Maybe its just wording but its a good sign that the coach is in charge of his coaching staff.
