The NBA Trade Deadline is tomorrow afternoon. Rumors swirl of deals in the works, deals already made and deals off the table. ESPN is reporting that the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking at the possibility of dealing Luol Deng shortly after acquiring him, but that the goal is not to sell off the season but improve the team. In that vein we are presenting a possible 3 trade parlay that would create the perfect Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Trade Deadline, and its starts with Deng.

Cavs trade Deng to the Phoenix Suns for Emeka Okafor’s contract and 2 ’14 first round picks.

The Suns acquire a solid veteran that can help them in their quick rise in the West. The Suns have rolled out unique lineups to attempt to cover their hole at the SF position, sound familiar Cavs fans. They have been rumored to be interested in Pau Gasol and willing to give up a 1st rounder for him. Deng is a better, young player that fits the teams’ needs. Getting 2 of the Suns possible 4 ’14 draft selections is a big win for the Cavaliers. Okafor will not play this year, but if he is miraculously healed could be a cheap contract next year for the Cavs. Those 2 first round picks will come in handy in a number of ways.

Ha wow I don’t think you have a very accurate read on what the Cavs assets are worth. Only the Cavs would do any of those deals.

Sadly I don’t really value the Cavs assets. I have heard that GSW is interested in a big and would give up Barnes. The Suns were willing to move at least a first for Gasol, 2 firsts for Deng is reasonable given that exchange. The Magic have made it clear they would trade Afflalo for a first according to ESPN’s Stein. Do I think any of these trades would happen? No. I wouldn’t trade Deng unless I had a replacement like Barnes or Afflalo.

I like the trades, a little Leary of using the draft picks, but you have to give to get!! I hate seeing Deng go, as I had hoped he would be here for a while !! It does one thing that may be a problem and that is it takes away some veteran leadership and adds more youth ! Which raises the question of Mike Brown’s lack of communicating with the younger players!! Maybe he has gotten better lately as they are winning, but they also playing lesser teams.

So the Cavs want to trade for a injured player?
I like Deng. If they had any smarts they would try to keep him next season or beyond. Draft picks seem to get the Cavs nowhere. Just look at past picks.
