Reports: Jimmer Fredette to be Bought Out - Cleveland Cavaliers Interested, Fit?

According to reports the Sacramento Kings and Jimmer Fredette are in negotiations for a buyout. A buy out would allow the Kings to save a little money, add a developmental player they want to take a look at and get “Jimmer-Mania” out of their way. For Fredette its a chance to catch on someplace else where his role is more defined and he can get out of the pressure of being a lottery pick. Sam Amico reported previous interest from the Cleveland Cavaliers in Fredette that may return when he is bought out.

For Fredette he may have other options of contenders but could find more playing time with the Cavs. Fredette could be the second string shooting guard with Dion Waiters running the point, when he returns from injury. Fredette could take some of the playing time currently going to Matthew Dellavadova and possible from CJ Miles, who is a free agent at the end of the year. Fredette was a high powered offense of his own in college but has struggled to catch on in the NBA. With the Kings his playing time has fluctuated but never given the opportunity to really thrive. The odds of him becoming a star in the league are low, with his poor ball handling and defensive skills but he could find a role on a team. As a catch and shoot guy the Cavs could continue to provide spacing for Watiers, Kyrie Irving and Jarrett Jack. Fredette would come cheap, with a free look for next year. Miles could get more of the backup small forward minutes available.

Any interest in Fredette at all? Think he fits a need for the second unit or rather see Delly keep getting gritty, albeit limited skilled, minutes?
