Yesterday we covered the 51st through 100th ranked 2014 NFL Free Agents. The Cleveland Browns were not seen as “fits” for any of these players. Today we look at the Top 50 players some of which are seen as fits for the Browns for interesting reasons. Lets take a look at the players noted as fits:

43. KNOWSHON MORENO

RB, Denver (Age 27)

A good all-around back who can pass protect and is relatively young with low miles (1,002 career touches). Running backs are never going to get big money in free agency. Best fit:Browns. They have plenty of cap space and a need.

Moreno coming off his best season, if available but the Peyton Manning factor could play a role. Did he have such a good season due to Manning or was he just ready to break out? His low number of touches is a good thing but for a team that focused on the run before Manning, Moreno’s lack of carries are a concern. The Browns do have a need and have plenty of cap space, going to be  a pattern in their post, whether Moreno is a fit in the Zone Blocking Scheme is the more important issue.
