Update: If the Browns trade for Revis they will want a restructured contract:
If #Browns were to trade for Darrelle Revis — there is interest — I’m told he’d have to renegotiate his contract. Would he? It’s possible.

Darrelle Revis is available currently by trade from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We covered in the past that he might fit with the Cleveland Browns need. Today we get mention that the Browns could be a team to watch in regards to a trade. They have the assets and the cap space: https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/443408491512733696 Revis would be reunited with Mike Pettine in the situation but would he be willing to restructure his deal? He currently makes about 6 million more then any other cornerback in the league. The Browns are hoping to extend Joe Haden and having two high paid corners could be problematic. If Revis is traded for, whether he restructures or not, odds are the Browns would have to be out of the Jarius Byrd hunt. With two shut down guys on either side it would be a luxury, and signing Donte Whitner to a decent size deal wouldn’t leave a great deal of money left in the coffers. If the Browns are serious about winning adding Revis, Whitner and Byrd while extending Haden would allow them to spend most of the draft on offense. Adding either a franchise QB or Sammy Watkins could be the start of a complete team. Who would you want Revis or Byrd? Do you think the Browns give up anything of value for Revis? Do you think he would restructure?
