Donte Whitner Signs 4 Year $28 Million Deal With Browns

According to Adam Schefter the Cleveland Browns have officially signed Donte Whitner to a 4 year, $28 million deal.

Whitner will slide in at the starting Strong Safety position replacing T.J. Ward in the defensive backfield. Whitner has more range then Ward and is only a little over one year older then Ward. Mike Pettine’s defense seems to want range in the defensive backfield.

The Browns still seem to have a bunch of irons in the fire especially on defense. We will update you on confirmed signings and do full writeups over the next 2 days on what each signing means and what the mean together.

How do you feel about Whitner’s signing now that we know the cost? Are you still upset that Ward won’t be back?
