Report: Geoff Schwartz Not Returning to Chiefs, Not Signing With Vikings

Geoff Schwartz, the brother of the Browns Mitchell, is a free agent guard from the Kansas City Chiefs. Schwartz has been noted as a Cleveland Browns free agent target due to the Browns need as well as his brother’s presence with the team. Having a pair of Schwartz next to each other on the line should help with communications. Some have Geoff as the best guard available in free agency so his cost could be high. What we know this morning is he will not be returning to either of his former teams, the Chiefs or the Vikings according to Matt Miller:

That means the Browns still have a shot at a guy that could solidify their offensive line. Whether Ray Farmer and Kyle Shanahan see value in brothers Schwartz in the new Zone Blocking Scheme, or would invest high dollar in a guard, are still to be answered.

So far we think we know the Browns will be signing Donte Whitner (Impact Story) and Dexter McCluster (Twitter Tip Off Story) and that Geoff Schwartz is still on the market. We at FoS will try to keep you up to date today as best we can with all stories that impact the Browns.

Would you be okay with pairing the brothers and leaving Mitchell out at RT? Are you okay with smaller signings as opposed to big name ones like last year?
