#26 Ryan Shazier

This writer will beat the Shazier drum, possibly till draft day. Shazier could fall to the second round but the Browns pounce when they see him available at this point. Shazier is a dynamic athlete but lacks some of the height/weight measurables that teams tend to look for in 3-4 OLBs. The Browns have their #1 receiver and may believe they can get their #2, in a very deep draft, in the second round. C.J. Mosley and Shazier are the two premier players that could take over at ILB from day 1.

Shazier will start next to the hammer that is Karlos Dansby. While Dansby specializes in run defense Shazier can do a little bit of everything. He can play sideline to sideline, rush the passer and play in coverage. He will bulk up a little bit to improve his run defense but still keep his athleticism. With Dansby and Shazier manning the middle the Browns will turn a weakness into a strength.
