Last week Todd McShay put up his Mock Draft, and we analyzed it, now Mel Kiper Jr. has done the same (Insider, costs $), and also added a 2nd round as well. How does the hair guru seeing the draft unfold and how will it impact the Cleveland Browns? Lets take a look:

4 Johnny Manziel Cleveland Browns (4-12) COLLEGE: Texas A&M Class: Soph HT: 5-11 WT: 207  POS: QB

Analysis: Manziel is not my top-rated QB, but he is the QB I believe (right now) is likeliest to go this high, as I believe a team like Cleveland, with a number of draft assets and a QB on the roster it feels can create a bridge to a young starter, is in a good scenario to take a chance on Manziel’s ceiling. The Browns owning the No. 26 pick as well as an early second-rounder gives them a chance to take a player like Watkins here if available and consider a QB later, but this is how I see it as of right now.

Kiper has Jadeveon Clowney, Greg Robinson and Sammy Watkins off the board before the Browns pick. It wouldn’t be overly shocking if the Browns select Manziel but Blake Bortles seems like a more sure fit then Manziel at this point. Drafting Manziel when Khalil Mack, Mike Evans or other impacts players are still on the board seems like a reach. With no QBs off the board by this point the Browns could be even more confident of one falling to them later in the draft. We will look at which ones were available at each of the Browns picks.

Sorry, I just can’t believe they would take Manziel at #4. He is not a top ten pick and there is better choices on the board to take! The quarterbacks will fall in this draft as none are top picks! The Browns have too many holes to fill and there will be QBs available later with as much up side!! They will draft a QB, but at#26or#35 not at four!!

I don’t see Bortles falling and actually think the Browns take him at 4 if he is there, as long as they aren’t sold on Watkins, Evans or others. Obviously a developmental pick but I think they are okay with that at that position only and the right guy. I agree I don’t see Manziel, or any of the other guys at 4

I can’t believe they would waste a pick that high on Bortles, when Watkins or Mathews or Robinson is there! They are a far better choice than anyone of the big four QB’s!! I think Manziel or Carr or Bridgewater will be there at #26, one or two will still be available! Bortles may be gone, heck two or three will be, but one will be there! It all depends on who they want and will he be there at #26 or even #35! The big question is who? I think he has someone in mind and will grab him when the time is right. It may not be any of the four we mentioned here.

I agree with you about Matthews and Robinson, not totally sold on Watkins (size, injury history) but understand why many are. I think this FO would possible take Bortles. I think the QB factor probably is a 10 to 15 pick upgrade to a pick for many, including me. So if I would take Bortles from 14 to 20 then I would take him at 4. Not saying it is right to do so but that is how important I see the QB position, especially when we have a stud WR and LT already.

Yes,but if you are building from the now position that the Sea Hawks used to get to the championship. You get an acceptable QB and put the team around him to make it there!! That would be the thing to do here, as these quarterbacks are not someone like Luck or the Mannings who could carry a team to the Super Bowl! There might be one there in the correct situation and right scheme, but who is it and what scheme?
So you build the offense and defense and hope for the best. They have been guessing about THE quarterback since coming back and see where they are! Time for a different plan!!

Replace Manziel with Bridgewater & I’d be ecstatic!
