Since leaving the Cleveland Indians and signing a two year, $22 million dollar contract with the Oakland Athletics, Scott Kazmir has yet to disappoint the Athletics fan base and ball club. Kazmir who has been in the Major leagues for nine years, the Houston, Texas native has had an astounding ERA of 1.40, two wins, and a total of 19 strikeouts. According to ESPN.com, Kazmir ranks fifth in the American League, ninth in the American League ERA, third in the league with WHIP, and ranks first in the American League with a 1.000 winning percentage.
On April 2, he got his first crack at his former team in which he won by score of 6-1. Before leaving the Indians, Kazmir was 10-9 with an ERA of 4.04 and pitched 158 innings.
This is Kazmir’s fourth team in almost ten years. He has also played for the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Oakland Athletics are currently 10-5 and are in 1st place in the American League West.
