Pete Prisco's NFL Mock Draft: 1st Round

In the age of the internet and blogs we now have access to information, data and analysis from high quality individuals. Instead of just being able to read from local writers and a select few national media members, we can engulf as much information about a subject as we please. That is especially true when it comes to the NFL Draft. The number of Mock Drafts out there is staggering. The great thing is a good number of them are high quality writers’ Mocks. Tonight we look at Pete Prisco’s and how he sets up the Cleveland Browns for success in the future:

Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson: I will stay with Watkins in this spot this week.

Prisco doesn’t seem convinced here does he? He will stay with the stud WR from the draft in Sammy Watkins. Watkins will give the Browns 2 stud wideouts along with slot guy Andrew Hawkins and running back Ben Tate. A dominant offense indeed yet lacking a quarterback who can for sure lead them to the playoffs. Brian Hoyer is a great story but is he Andy Dalton at his best? Does Watkins addition mean anything without a QB?

Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville: Would they be happy if he’s still on the board here? You bet.

The perfect draft according to many would be adding Watkins and a high level QB but will Bridgewater fall? If the Browns think Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel or Blake Bortles are the right guy to lead the team should the risk losing them or instead take them at #4? Is another WR like Brandin Cooks, Marqise Lee or Cody Latimer, all 3 drafted after #26, worth passing on Watkins at 4? In this case Watkins doesn’t have to be sacrificed as Bridgewater comes along at #26.

Perfect world? Any chance? Watkins and Bridgewater, a better combo for you would be?
