Brian Windhorst may cover the Miami Heat full time but his ear is still in on all things Cleveland Cavaliers. He just reported that the Cavs are deciding between Tyronn Lue and David Blatt:
Filed to ESPN: Cavs believed to be deciding between Tyronn Lue and David Blatt for head coach. Choice expected soon.

Both of these candidates have interesting backgrounds. Lue as a former player with assistant coach experience and Blatt as a very successful head coach in Europe but zero experience in the NBA. Either one would be a first time NBA Head Coach. The Cavs have turned over many rocks to find the right coach this time. Lue and Blatt both have their share of backers in the league and on Twitter.
It looks like the Cavs are searching out as much information as possible on Blatt, which makes sense since Lue has been in and around the NBA for years:
Within past 3 hours, Cleveland ownership still making calls to gather deeper intel on coaching candidacy of David Blatt, sources tell Yahoo.

That could be read in two ways: Either the Cavs want to make sure Blatt is the right guy or they are looking to make sure they are making the right decision on Lue. It seems more likely that the first is true. The Cavs have information, want to hire Blatt but want to make sure they check with as many people as possible.
If the report is true the idea of Mark Jackson or David Fizdale, reportedly LeBron James first choices, are out the window. Doesn’t mean anything in particular regarding James but could mean the Cavs are looking to make the best decision for their team as possible with either Blatt or Lue.
If true, who do you prefer?
