The Cleveland Cavaliers have, and will continue to, keep us busy this off-season. With all the assets they currently have on their team as well as a desire to win and put a better fit together, nothing seems to be off the table. During a lunch conversation with David Zavac of FearTheSword that everyone except Kyrie Irving could be moved off this roster and I wouldn’t be shocked. Today’s rumor is the Cavs trading Jarrett Jack to the Brooklyn Nets for Marcus Thornton:
Going online now: ESPN sources say Nets and Cavs are discussing Marcus Thornton-for-Jarrett Jack trade

For the Cavs Thornton is around an 8 million dollar expiring contract while getting rid of the last 2 to 3 years of Jack’s contract. Thornton could be used as a 6th man off the bench or his salary could be added into other trades to get the Cavs a veteran off a team trying to dump salary.
The Nets could be looking for a leader for their second unit, and have very few assets to add to their team. Jack could be another veteran spark off the bench and the team had little to no hope of getting under the salary cap in the next few years anyways.
No move with the Cavs can be taken in a vaccuum this off-season. So many moving parts that Thornton could be on the team for 1 minute or 1 season. Griffin has watched Chris Grant work the trade lines, the one thing he did very well, and hopefully is working a similar path, only this time acquiring talent that fits together and understands the game.
What do you think of this trade if it happens?
