News will continue hot and heavy between today and Thursday, because the NBA Draft is Thursday. Many fans are hoping the Cleveland Cavaliers select Andrew Wiggins with the #1 overall pick, after Joel Embiid went down with his foot injury. Some fans still want Embiid. Others want the pick trade. Far fewer want Jabari Parker, yet that seems to be the direction, or smokescreen, the Cavs are currently leaning towards:
Nothing set in stone yet but Cavs leaning towards Jabari Parker over Andrew Wiggins, according to a source.

It would be an interesting decision for the Cavs if they go in that direction. Parker can play a little small forward but is a tweener power forward, a stretch 4. He has a diverse offensive game and can shoot from all over the floor. He has the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the hole.
Unfortunately due to his body makeup and size he doesn’t have a solid defensive reputation and may struggle mightily in the league. He would be joining ball dominate Cavs Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters which could make his transition a little more difficult as he doesn’t have the ball in his hands nor have solid defensive players around him.
Parker is still a high quality pick and a no brainer if Wiggins wasn’t in the draft. The Cavs are looking for the right direction for the team and Parker could be just what David Griffin and David Blatt want. The David’s could see him as a stretch 4 that could allow Irving, Waiters and others to flourish.
What would be your reaction Thursday if this is the pick?
