Teddy Bridgewater: Not wanting to play for Browns was 'false'

The quarterback many thought would be the selection of the Cleveland’s Brown in last May’s draft gave an interview to ESPN Cleveland Browns Analyst Tony Grossi Tuesday.

Bridgewater is in northeast Ohio for the NFL Rookie Symposium. The interview was part of the Hey, Tony show, and Bridgewater appeared in a rapid fire segment called “On The Clock.”

Grossi asked Bridgewater  about comments he made after the draft about the Browns not wanting to draft him.

Bridgewater replied:

“That was false. it was misinterpreted, but I had a solid feeling about Minnesota.”

After the draft, Bridgewater made these comments to The Dan Patrick Show, via CBS Sports.

“I actually told my agent that’s not the place where I wanted to be,” Bridgewater told Patrick. “Throughout this entire process I felt comfortable with the Minnesota Vikings from every visit that I had with the team. It’s a family environment. The players, great guys, a great group of guys so I felt comfortable wanting to play here.”

Grossi also asked Bridgewater what comes to his mind when he sees Jonny Manziel partying on social media.

Bridgewater replied:

“He’s just having fun.”

Bridgewater was a man of few words during the interview, but the answer indicates there may not be much of a concern, at least among Manziel’s NFL peers, about Manziel’s partying ways.

Bridgewater, who really is the anti-Manziel when it comes to being out in public, could have criticized Manziel, but seemed to give an honest answer.

Maybe the feeling is different inside the Browns locker room.
