Chad Ford's Final NBA Mock Draft

The 2014 NBA Draft is coming up in a few hours and we have Chad Ford’s Final NBA Mock Draft. The Cleveland Cavaliers are still looking to make their decision regarding the top pick but at least one option seems to be off the board as the Orlando Magic have already traded Arron Afflalo, back to the Denver Nuggets. That means the Sixers and the Jazz, or a surprise team would have to make a huge bid to get the pick. Here is what Ford sees happening:

Andrew Wiggins Cleveland Cavaliers (33 – 49) COLLEGE: Kansas HT: 6-8 WT: 200 POS: SG

This pick has shifted numerous times in the Mock. On Wednesday, Jeff Goodman and I reported that the Cavs front office is leaning strongly toward Jabari Parker and owner Dan Gilbert was blown away with the Wiggins workout in Cleveland and was leaning in that direction. Gilbert has denied there is a rift between him and his front office, and the signals, frankly are pointing in both directions.

The question, however, is whether they keep the pick. Multiple teams, including the Sixers, Magic, Jazz and Celtics, are trying to get up to No. 1. The Magic traded Aaron Afflalo to the Nuggets on Thursday morning, effectively ending their bid for the No. 1 pick. The Sixers, who sweetened their offer on Thursday, may have the best offer now.

If the offer gets good enough, look for the Cavs to take it, move down a few spots, take Joel Embiid and walk away with several other assets as they make their move to lure LeBron James back to Cleveland this summer.

So Ford goes the direction that we have thought since the Embiid injury. If Parker is the pick then expect a trade if not Wiggins is the fit that most see. You take the best player in the draft and you figure the rest out. Teams may continue to try to get the Cavs to give up the first pick but that would require a hefty offer, one that so far hasn’t been in play.

You okay with Wiggins? Want the scorer in Parker or want to add to the team through a trade?
