Is speculating about LeBron James‘ jersey number getting ahead of ourselves? Of course it is, but the King could very well be returning to Cleveland. Even Las Vegas thinks it could happen, as the Cavs odds of winning the NBA title next season went from 60-1 to 12-1.
The number switch was reported by Fox Sports Ohio reporter Sam Amico, who quoted an unnamed source.
“If James returned to Cleveland, he would wear No. 32. He wore No. 23 with the Cavs before and No. 6 with the Heat. The source also indicated James is close to announcing his decision.”
Social media has gone LeBron crazy the past two days, as rumors of James’ destination continue to dominate headlines.
All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving is doing his best to bring James back, according to Amico.
“ESPN reported Irving as telling LeBron the Cavs will get him all the help he needs in Cleveland.”
The Cavs will have to move some money around to sign James, but it shouldn’t be a deal breaker.
The Cleveland front office doesn’t have a solid feel for what James will ultimately do, but the Cavs expect to know something by Wednesday.
