Timberwolves Turn Down Cavs' offer of Dion Waiters, Anthony Bennett For Kevin Love

The Minnesota Timberwolves are on the clock to deal Kevin Love, who can be a free agent after this year, and the franchise apparently turned down a hefty offer from the Cavaliers.

According to Chris Broussard, the Cavs offered Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 overall pick in last year’s draft, as well as Dion Waiters, in addition to a future first-round pick.

The deal won’t go down because the Timberwolves are obsessed with obtaining Andrew Wiggins, a player whom the Cavs have no interest in moving, according to Brian Windhorst.

The report suggested that the Cavs may have to get creative to add Love, and that a third team may be brought in to help facilitate a trade.

Minnesota can’t be faulted for trying to get something for the franchise’s best player, but the organization may have to curb their demands.

The Warriors were interested in Love until the asking price became Klay Thompson. That didn’t sit well with new coach Steve Kerr, and a trade that seemed likely has cooled considerably.

Love and Wolves haven’t made the playoffs together in six seasons.

What do you consider a fair offer to be for Kevin Love, if your Cavs’ GM David Griffin?

    Thank you, Mr. T-Wolf.
Love will be available next season, and by then we may know what we have in Wiggins & Bennett.

We should sit this one out and wait for him to become a free agent. Or once they become desperate, trade them peanuts. They aren’t going to get much better than Waiters, Bennett (in great shape Bennett), a first round pick or two.

I think the Timberwolves are trying anything to get Wiggins and they had their chance before the draft! Now, as far as I can think, they can watch him walk and get nothing for him at the end of the year! What the Cav’s offered was more than enough for Love in the situation he has put them in!!

Thats WHY YOU ARE the T-Wolves…. and thank you for not changing, before we need teams like you to saves the Cavs from their own stupidity…. The wolves are now that ugly girl sitting at the bar at last call thinking she can still be picky, Hopefully the Cavs said “bleep” you, after the offer was turned down… because the Wolves wont get a better package…. my only concern is…. the Cavs may not give up because Lebron may push the issue, which is wrong, Just wait the 1 year then get Love, right now the Cavs should be focusing on adding little pieces like a Blatche to help out inside and Ariza to help on the wing, or they may want to look in trading for Cousins…. Crazy Wolves thinking they can get Wiggins for 1 year of love, if that was the case Wiggins would not be the first pick off the board !

i would not give them anything more than 1 future first rounder i would get kg and wait till next year for him to be a free agent with aldridge and take my pick all we need is a strecth 4 or a strech 5 that has a full low post and high post game theyare asking to much for a player that is going to walk they will give him away at the trade deadline for nothing if cleveland just shows some patience

we should keep bennett and waiters give them losers (t-wolves)1 pick ,they should have gave him(LOVE) a max contract when they had the chance we should wait them out someone should sell this to lebron because thats what got us in trouble last time when we had no picks trying to make a team with big names past their prime right now we are sitting pretty this team is going to run teams in the ground if they keep it like it is the rookie big men are great passers i think we have something in cleveland
