VoF: Not much help coming for the Indians at MLB Trade Deadline

(Editor’s Note: Our Voice of the Fan isn’t hopeful that the Tribe can make any moves at the trade deadline. What do you think?)

Every year about this time, the halfway point and the MLB trade deadline approaching, we Cleveland Indians fans hold out hope that we are still afloat in the race for a playoff spot? We are hoping the front office can  provide that piece or two to put them over the top.

Well , I’m afraid there is no help coming as they need some major pieces  and not only can ‘t they afford it, they really don’t have much to trade they are willing to part with for what they need! A power bat and a front line starter are necessary and everyone they talk to wants Francisco Lindor in the trade mix!

So unfortunately, we must hope that the players we have can come back to closer to their career stats. I really can’t see hanging onto Asdrubal Cabrera . he was pulled from the game last night due to injury , when they are counting on Lindor at shot stop next year! they may not get much, but there has been some interest shown from the Giants. We must hope that Justin Masterson and Zach McAllister can rebound to their previous form . also Carlos Santana and Nick Swisher can step it up! Tito Francona needs to break out the smoke and mirrors like last year! but I have my doubts!!
