A lot has been written and said about Kevin Love being traded to one of three teams which want his services for at least the next couple of years. There’s the Golden State Warriors, the Chicago Bulls and of course the Cleveland Cavaliers! Whatever team eventually ends up with him will become a strong contender in their division and conference to contend for a Championship! My question is at what cost? All three teams have made some good offers, packages of players and draft choices galore.
At first the Cav’s offered Dion Waiters, Anthony Bennett and a first round choice, which to me seemed like a pretty even trade. I realize that Bennett didn’t show much last year, but toward the end he was coming around and there was room for growth which he would do. Dion showed so really good signs of what he could become when Kyrie Irving went down for a series of games and Waiters took over! Remember what we got for the sign and trade for LBJ from Miami! Lets face it, Love is good but he isn’t James!! Flip Saunders said NO, he insisted the trade include Andrew Wiggins. When, supposedly, the Cavs did include Wiggins, Flip still balked and wanted more!!
Should the Cavs give in and include more, that will strap this team and leave them like the Miami Heat were at the end of the year. Needing an infusion of younger talent and no way to get it!! The Timberwolves keep playing te Bulls against the Warriors and then one or the other against the Cavs!! I can’t blame them for trying to get the most they can for Kevin Love, but do we really need him that bad as to trade so much of the team to get one player! The Timberwolves haven’t made the playoffs since Love got there and the additions they have made aren’t going to carry them to the playoffs, unless something strange happens in their conference!! It’s time to get real and stop adding players and picks to a trade that will surely be too expensive in the long run!! Time to call Flips bluff !!!
