There are a number of issues the Cleveland Browns needs to fix to win. Will they do enough today to get a win on the road?

After a week of drama away from the field (mainly a media report on the Browns’ QB position), it is a very good thing to have the Cleveland Browns back on the field despite their struggles.

More from Cleveland Browns

This is Cleveland’s first road game on the west coast this season, as they face the San Diego Chargers.

Cleveland must continue to improve their running game. They also need to do everything possible to limit quarterback Philip Rivers‘ play.

Another key responsibility for the Browns’ defense is to improve their rush defense. Stopping rookie RB Melvin Gordon is going to be challenging but their defense has the talent to limit any success he could have.

If other circumstances occurred during this past NFL Draft, the Browns’ defense may not have even had to prepare for Gordon. That is because Cleveland had considered taking Gordon during the first round.

To get a win today on the offensive side of the ball, the Browns will need their offensive line to stop the penalties that have been committed and continue to implement the running game more. One of these games, their running game will give more production than they have. Today could be that day.

Cleveland only rushed for 39 yards last week. Should they be able to get more on the ground, additional plays downfield will happen.

The Browns have a record of 1-2 on the season. They are two games back of first place, which is currently held by the 3-0 Cincinnati Bengals.
