The list of starting quarterbacks for the Cleveland Browns will continue to increase on Sunday, but should that really happen?

After Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown was lost for the season Monday night with a broken collarbone, Browns head coach Mike Pettine decided to start Austin Davis this weekend. In doing so, he bypassed former first round pick Johnny Manziel.

When Davis starts Sunday, he will be the 24th QB starting for the team since 1999!

Once again the quarterback decision will be a weekly one. Though that is the case, is that really the best way to go about deciding on the position? That has already been the way the team has decided for multiple weeks this season. Why not select a player and stick to that decision?

Between the two players, Manziel is more experienced with the players, having been in Cleveland for two seasons now. Davis however, has done well in his limited time with the Browns in addition to his career from his time with the St. Louis Rams.

Manziel has been an off the field distraction while also not being able to succeed on the field. So the decision could be seen as almost a no-brainer for Davis to start. On the other hand, Davis, though he is a veteran, has not had the chance to showcase everything he can do. Putting one’s complete hope in him this early may be too much. Then again, his previous play has been exciting to watch so perhaps coach Pettine is on to something.

Though the decision has been made, who really should be the starting QB, Davis or Manziel? Let the debate begin as the FoS team gives their input!
