The Cleveland Browns dropped their Week 5 game versus the New England Patriots 33-13. With the lose, they are now 0-5 as the long season just got even longer.

There are a ton of holes on the Cleveland Browns roster. Despite their lack of talent on the roster,  the Browns could have had a chance to win had they did their jobs like the last two matchups versus the Pats.

Well, obviously that did not happen. We knew before the season starter that it would be filled with many frustrating moments as the team grows. However, today’s play makes the 2016 season feel even longer and full of disappointment.

With the loss, Cleveland remains the lone team without a win in 2016. Yes, the Browns need a lot to compete — Offensive linemen, running backs, and wide receivers come to mind. Those are all important and critical pieces. However, it all goes back to the quarterback.

Unfortunately, earlier today the Browns’ situation got even worse. Cody Kessler got injured, wide receiver Terrelle Pryor took snaps, and then veteran Charlie Whitehurst made his Cleveland debut.

So, when can we expect the Browns to get a win in the victory column? The good news is that the wait should not be long.

In fact, the win drought should end within the next three weeks. Over that time, the Browns will face the Tennessee Titans on the road in Week 6, followed by a road game in Wee 7 versus the Cincinnati Bengals, before heading home in Week 8 to face the New York Jets.

The Browns’ best chances of a win during that time will be versus the Titans and Jets. The 2-3 Titans are playing their opponents tight, just like the Browns. Tennessee has been surprising given their youth. However, look at who they beat: The Detroit Lions by one point and the Miami Dolphins today.

Detroit has not been playing great despite quarterback Matthew Stafford‘s great start to the season. Meanwhile, the Dolphins cannot stop anyone. Had it not been for Cleveland’s issues with their kicking game, Miami would be winless.

Tennessee is in the progress of figuring out a balance with their running game via their talented duo of DeMarco Murray and rookie Derrick Henry. Through their inconsistent play and being  a younger team, the Browns will face a mirror image in a lot of ways next weekend.

The Jets have underperformed this season. They were so close to being a playoff team in 2015, but now are going the complete opposite direction with a 1-4 start.

Injuries have hampered them, but so has quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick‘s play. If Cleveland can force Fitzpatrick to continue his inconsistent play, then they should be in a good position to get that win.

Cleveland Browns wins are going to be few and far in between. Yet, it is just a matter of time before they win.. all be it, not that many times. If for whatever reason, the Browns does not win by the Jets game, then the wait for the first win could actually be longer than expected.

After the Jets game, the next potential chance of a win won’t be until Cleveland’s home game versus the New York Giants November 27th! That’s right, almost December.

If the Giants’ injury issues and inconsistent play on both defense and with quarterback Eli Manning continues by then, Cleveland has a legitimate shot. Not to mention the ways the Browns could play mind  games with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

If all of those options fail, then who knows. Yet, as always, hope for the best Browns fans, but expect the worse.
