The Voice of the Fan was not happy how the game ended, but is glad that they got to finally secure the first overall pick.

The Pittsburgh Steelers played without Big Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell, and Antonio Brown today versus the Cleveland Browns. However, their defense did not rest any key players.

On the Browns’ second drive of the game, Robert Griffin III scored on his first touchdown pass as a Brown to Seth Devalve. That was nice to see, but what does that tell you about Griffin? It took five games for him to get his first touchdown pass!

Cleveland’s defense got its second sack of the game via Christian Kirksey, which resulted in a Steelers punt. The two teams traded punts as the first quarter ended with the Browns up 7-0.

With 9:21 left in the second quarter, Griffin hit Gary Barnidge for a four yard touchdown, which was his second of the game. As a result, Cleveland increased increased their lead to 14-0.
Shortly after, the Browns’ drove into Steelers territory but got intercepted by Ohio State alum Ryan Shazier, just shy of the Pittsburgh end zone.

Rookie center Anthony Fabiano also had a bad snap and Pittsburgh recovered. With 31 seconds until half, the Steelers scored on a DeAngelo Williams reception. At the half, Cleveland still was leading 14-7.

Following halftime, Briean Boddy-Calhoun intercepted Landry Jones and ran it back and ultimately dove into for the end zone. However, he fumbled the ball causing a touch back instead of a touchdown.

That was just the momentum Pittsburgh was seeking as they were on the move close to the Browns’ 20 as the third quarter ended. After a pass interference call on Joe Haden, Williams scored again, this time from a yard out to tie the Browns at 14.

Rookie Shon Coleman took Cameron Erving‘s place at right tackle after Erving injured his knee. Erving just isn’t doing the job there or at center. Meanwhile, Fabiano got beat on the line for a sack which led to a missed field goal attempt by Cody Parkey from 49 yards out.

After a mixed drive of runs and passes, Jones hit Demarius Ayers for the go-ahead touchdown. Down, but not out, the Browns took the kickoff and Isaiah Crowell broke off a 67 yard run to the Steelers’ five! George Atkinson eventually carried it in to tie  the game at 21.

It was just under two minutes left in regulation when Ed Reynolds sacked Jones on a third down near Pittsburgh’s goal line. Griffin later hit Pryor on a play that landed them at the Steelers’ five. On the next play unfortunately, Crowell fumbled on the three. Again, play calling was suspect.

Cleveland could have knelt down three times and kicked the winning field goal! Instead, the game went to overtime.

The Browns got the kickoff and successfully got down inside the Steelers’ five again. However, more stupid play calls were made! The Browns were driven back to the 16 on third and goal.

Luckily, Parkey kicked a 31 yard field goal, but the game was far from over. Pittsburgh executed a fourth and two on the Browns’ 30.

They then went to the end zone on the next play to Cobi Hamilton for the game winning touchdown. The Steelers won and the Browns secured the first overall pick as the game ended as the final ended with a 27-21 score.
