Cleveland Browns free agents: The Browns are coming off a 1-15 mark and the pressure to drastically improve is immense. These NFL free agents can help make the Browns better.

Before the Cleveland Browns pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the front office will have the opportunity to improve the club through free agency.

For yet another offseason, the Browns have tons of cap room. If there’s one things the multiple regimes that pass through town are good at it, it’s gutting the roster and saving money.

The Browns are No. 1 in salary cap room, even after re-signing Jamie Collins. Cleveland has $107 million available to spend. The projected 2017 NFL salary cap is $168 million. And because the Browns rolled over about $50 million in unused cap room from last season, they can spend up to $218 million on salaries.

You and I have a better chance of starting games at quarterback next season than the Browns actually using all of this money.

Last offseason serves as the perfect example. With about $36 million cap space–9th most in the NFL–the Browns let all four of their own free agents–Alex Mack, Travis Benjamin, Tashaun Gipson and Mitchell Schwartz–walk.

Schwartz would’ve stayed, but Cleveland said “No thanks” to matching the five-year, $33 million deal the former second-round pick received from Kansas City.

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam as saying Cleveland will be “Appropriately aggressive” in free agency, so here’s eight potential free agents he should seriously consider spending his money on.
