The longer Terrelle Pryor is a free agent, the higher the chances are he returns to the Cleveland Browns next season.

Terrelle Pryor is a still a free agent.

Pryor visited the Redskins, but nothing’s come out of the visit, so far.

This is good news for those who want to see Pryor back in an orange helmet. The former Ohio State quarterback has a number in his mind of what he’s worth, and he’s trying to see if just one team agrees with him.

The Browns are letting him do it, meaning it’s a good bet they have a lower price in mind.

The longer Pryor remains on the market, it’s highly likely that he’s not getting the offers he thought he might received when the free agency period officially commenced March 9.

If a team was ready to throw money Pryor’s way, it would’ve made more sense for it to happen after free agency officially began, especially when you consider the two day “legal tampering” period leading up to free agency.

Perhaps Pryor wants to visit the place he’s going to call home, though. Even so, a announcement should’ve been made last night if the Skins and Pryor were close.

Even with Pryor looking elsewhere, the Browns decided to be proactive, making headline worthy  signing that was overlooked after the Brock Osweiler mega-deal.

Cleveland landed Kenny Britt on a four-year, $32 million ($17 million guaranteed) contract. Britt’s a solid addition who is coming off a career high 1,002 receiving yards with the Rams in 2016. He had 68 receptions and five scores. Britt, 28, is 6-foot-3, and fast. He’ll be a nice deep threat and his career looks like it’s still trending up.

Pryor, 27, is 6-foot-4 and also showed a nack for coming down with the football. His numbers are very similar to Britt’s. Pryor caught 77 balls for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns, but it was his first full season at the receiver position. With Pryor, you must take this into consideration because his ceiling could be a lot higher than Britt’s.

According to Tweets from numerous national scribes, the Browns aren’t closing the door on the Pryor, just because they signed Britt.

That’s great to hear, because if Pryor returns to Cleveland, the Browns would suddenly boast a very formidable wide receiving corps.

Think about it: Pryor and Britt on the outside, and the undersized, but athletic playmaker Corey Coleman in the slot. Fun to think about, right?

But even if Cleveland loses TP, the front office has taken a moneyball approach to finding his replacement. Sashi Brown and Paul DePodesta have basically gotten the same production out a receiver at the price they wanted.
