Mentor product and UNC quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is dominating Cleveland Browns Draft rumors on the Eve of the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Titans hold the No. 5 pick in this year’s draft, and that spot will be interesting to watch because you might see the Browns attempt to swap spots with the Titans so they can take a quarterback before the Jets go on the clock with the sixth pick.

On Tuesday, NFL Network’s Michael Silver reported the Browns have called Tennessee about the first pick.

Would Mitch Trubisky be the Browns’ pick? Maybe. But it seems like the Trubisky rumors have been a little too public. Who knows? Anything is possible, and while that adage may be cliche, you can’t deny its truth.

Mitchell is my preferred quarterback of choice. You may not agree, but if he is, at the very least, appauld the Browns for going out and getting the player they view as their quarterback of the future.

Being 1-15 stinks. Being 1-15 and having zero hope? Apathy started to set in.  Trubisky’s selection changes that.

This mentality may reflect the “voices” in Berea that want to add Trubisky.

Jimmy Haslam hired Paul DePodesta to be his Chief Strategy Officer after the franchise became an NFL joke for firing coaches and changing regimes so quickly.

Ultimately, Haslam has the final say. Would he go against the voices of DePodesta, Sashi Brown, and coach Hue Jackson?

Put yourself in his place. Could you trot out Cody Kessler and Brock Osweiler in front of your fan base? Kessler should be improved this year, but his trajectory is that of a career back up. Osweiler did go 8-6 last season as a starter, but the Texans couldn’t wait to rid themselves of his contract.

It’s a hard sell to the fan . The reason the Browns accumulated all of their draft picks was to put themselves in a position to grab a quarterback. Mitch, Deshaun Watson, Patrick Mahomes, DeShone Kizer, it doesn’t matter. Get your guy and move this team forward.

Something to watch that may shock us all. The Browns take Trubisky at No. 1. And then trade back up from 12 to take a highly rated defensive player. Perhaps Solomon Thomas, maybe Malik Hooker.

You’ve got to figure the ransom to trade up from 12 wouldn’t be as high because the potential trade partner couldn’t play the “We’re giving you a high pick so you can take a franchise QB, so deliver us the moon,” card.

I’m running out of scenarios. See you on draft day!
