In Cavs rumors, Cleveland is finding out that not much of a trade market exists for the third member of its “Big 3,” Kevin Love.

Forget Kevin Love, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

The longtime basketball scribe appeared on ESPN Cleveland 850 AM this morning and said the Cavs are disappointed about the trade market for one of the team’s supposed remaining assets.

This is an indication of why rumors revolving around Paul George and Jimmy Butler have yet to come to fruition in Cleveland’s favor.

Windhorst said:

"The Cavs were not able to generate much interest in Kevin Love on the trade market. Either Indiana, Chicago, or elsewhere. He doesn’t have the kind of value they need right now to either make a three-way trade or to get those players straight up. He just doesn’t have that. Because those two players are better than Kevin. That doesn’t mean Kevin is a bad player."

So what do the Cavs do next?

Windhorst went above and behind in explaining how fluid things are in the NBA.

Things could always change, but as of right now, the Cavaliers aren’t getting what they think they should be recouping for moving Love.

So all of those trade machine workups you’ve seen on Twitter the last four days? Forget them, Windy said.

"For right now, and I want to emphasize extremely strongly, right now, because things change in the NBA every hour, but right now they are not satisfied with the trade value of Kevin Love at this moment and it could be a different answer in a week…they don’t like what the trade market is for kevin Love."

Windy added that at this point, it appears Love will be staying on the Cavaliers next season.

Love should be considered one of the most intriguing players to ever come through Cleveland.

Never has someone been so productive, yet so under appreciated.

But Love poses a quagmire the Cavs can’t quite solve. He’s supposed to be a member of the “Big 3,” and he’s a great a player against every team in the league except the Golden State Warriors.

So what’s left to trade? Here’s a mind-bender.

Per Windhorst, Tristan Thompson has more value on the trade market right now than Love.

"You may be able to upgrade what you have coming back. You couldn’t trade Kevin Love for another All-Star…right now I don’t think you could get another All-Star for Kevin Love."

Windhorst followed up this comment by reiterating his comments about Love’s market value, stating Love won’t net the Cavs Paul George or a high draft pick.

With the trade market not looking so friendly to the Cavaliers, the franchise may have to go into wait-and-see mode, while letting free agency shake out before it attempts to make a move to improve the roster.
