The defense is trending up

The Browns defense wasn’t exactly the 2000 Baltimore Ravens last week, but the group looked pretty darn good.

Hue Jackson was so confident in his defensive unit, that the first-year Browns coach elected to kickoff during overtime.

The defensive backs didn’t throw a perfect game in Miami, but none-the-less, the group made plays.

Briean Boddy-Calhoun returned an interception for a touchdown, while Jamal Taylor also added a pick.

The group will be boosted by the return of Joe Haden.

Through the first two weeks of the season, Haden at been assigned 85.3 grade by Pro Football Focus. For those that don’t follow the site, this means Haden is playing at a “high quality” level.

The site isn’t nearly as kind to Taylor, but last week’s interception was a step in the right direction.
