To celebrate April Fools’ Day, take a trip down memory lane and re-visit the five most foolish trades by the Cleveland Indians.

Major League Baseball is full of foolish trades, and as history shows, no team is exempt from making bad deals.

When your team hasn’t won a World Series in 72 seasons, you can go ahead and assume the organization you root for has made it fair share of bad deals.

Remember, these are the most foolish trades in Tribe history, keeping in mind there are plenty of other aggravating deals out there.

The trades of C.C. Sabathia and Cliff Lee were awful, but done out of necessity. Neither would’ve been an Indians the following the season as free agency approached. The Indians did what they could to recoup talent in those deals.

Keep in mind that the Indians have fleeced their fair share of teams, too, and hopefully, you’ll be reading about those on this site in the not-so-distant future.
