The FoS Voice of The Fan returns, talking Cleveland Browns and all the question marks surrounding the roster as the 2015 NFL season gets set to commence this weekend.

The preseason is over and the final cuts are in. The waiver wire’s been combed over and Ray Farmer is off in purgatory for four weeks. With Week 1 looming, the roster is set–and there’s tons of questions surrounding this Cleveland Browns team.

They won one game and dropped three on their exhibition schedule. I realize winning isn’t necessarily the only goal in exhibition games, but any chance this team gets to go back to the locker room with a win is a good thing.

The defense seems to be at least the same as last year if not a touch better. The depth seems to be better, but we will wait and see. I think the only reason Justin Gilbert is still employed is because his contract is guaranteed! A Ray Farmer mistake, one of a few.

The offense on the other hand is a big question mark! Will Josh McCown hold up? Will he be what the Bears got from him or what he looked like in Tampa? The vaunted running game never materialized in preseason play. It looked more like last year after Alex Mack got injured.

Duke Johnson was injured in camp and it seems this isn’t the first time he’s been bitten by the injury in college with some of the same troubles. Let’s hope he’s not a Courtney Brown type that has one problem after another.

Johnny Manziel was progressing right along until the tendentious in the elbow came back, yep you guessed it, another recurring injury from high school and college. Will he take over as starter later this year? Let’s hope it’s not because of injury or poor play.

The offensive line seems to be in the top six to eight tops in the league, maybe better but I’m a little worried right tackle.

It would seem I left the worst for last. The receiving corps. Is Dwayne Bowe set to be the big time player he was a few years ago or like the last one with the Cheifs? It looks like the latter, with Bowel third on the Browns depth chart.

What he showed in Chicago was he couldn’t get separation from second-string corners.

Will Terrelle Pryor turn out to be more like Josh Gordon in his first year or Greg Little? Somewhere inbetween would be nice.

There is Taylor Gabriel and Travis Benjamin who look good.

I haven’t even mentioned Barkevios Mingo and the linebackers. There are just so many more questions than answers. This team won’t go forward in the standings until the offense improves!

The front office says you don’t need to use high picks to get receivers, and that’s true if you have Aaron Rogers or Tom Brady or a number of other quarterbacks I could name. But if you don’t, you need quality wide receivers to help your quarterback!

There are just so many questions and so far I haven’t seen enough answers. How do you feel?
