#102 – Terrance Mitchell

I had hoped for a linebacker or safety here that fills a need on defense but the value wasn’t there. Mitchell is a 6’1″ defensive back that is sorely needed for the Browns. While Haden and Gilbert can do a good to great job on receivers the Browns were often burned by 2nd and 3rd receivers with height. Mitchell solves that problem and puts the Browns in rare air with their top 4 corners in Haden, Gilbert, Skrine and Mitchell. If Banner/Lombardi were in charge this wouldn’t be the pick due to using a 3rd rounder on Leon McFadden but Farmer doesn’t have the same connection. Farmer and Pettine will look to improve the weaknesses on the team, with value, instead of trying outsmart themselves and others. A taller corner is needed. Pettine, under Rex Ryan, collected DBs in New York and finishes off his corners here. Being creative Pettine can use extra corners instead of a free safety if they can’t upgrade that position.
