Julian Edelman – WR – New England Patriots

Edelman is a slot receiver in the mold of Wes Welker. The biggest question will be what contract he demands and how much is he a product of Tom Brady. Few WRs have started out with the Patriots, succeeded, then went on to another team and had success. Welker is the exception but he went to play with Peyton Manning, not a downgrade. Edelman played at Kent State and is familiar with the area, hopefully that is a good thing. Edelman in the slot, running precise routes is a perfect compliment to the highly athletic pair of Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron. Edelman would not be the outside receiver many want across from Gordon but many of those are available in the draft, as well as free agency. The Browns could look to make a short term big money deal with often injured Hakeem Nicks but Edelman is a more sure handed, sure thing with less injury history.
