26. Cleveland Browns (from Indianapolis)
Kyle Fuller
CB, Virginia Tech
The offense is coming along and although I didn’t address the QB need for the Browns via the first round of the draft, that’s not to say maybe later on in the draft with a proven winner in A.J. McCarron from Alabama, or an interesting prospect in Zach Mettenberger from LSU and Aaron Murray from Georgia. Still searching for a solid CB that they trust in passing situations, Fuller has played in some big time games and could be the guy.
27. New Orleans Saints
Jason Verrett
CB, TCU
Adding a pass rusher is always a need in New Orleans, but with the way the draft has gone the Saints should look elsewhere. New Orleans is loaded at safety for years to come with Kenny Vaccaro and Jairus Byrd. Their leader in interceptions last year was Keenan Lewis with 4, bring in a guy like Verrett to help change that.
28. Carolina Panthers
Kelvin Benjamin
WR, Florida State
Strongly considered Odell Beckham Jr.from LSU here, but without a doubt this pick needs to be a WR and based off this mock draft allows the Panthers to address their need for pass catchers here at 28. Benjamin is a huge target that Cam Newton has never had has Benjamin is 6 foot 5.
29. New England Patriots
Louis Nix
DT, Notre Dame
The Patriots have made a splash in free agency with the signings of Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner to fill their need at corner. Signing Brandon LaFell allows this pick to be a different position. Adding more depth on the defensive front line and the quality of this pick would go along way in New England.
30. San Francisco 49ers
Odell Beckham Jr.
WR, LSU
The 49ers can always use more offensive weapons and I like the idea of adding depth to WR as Anquan Boldin provides great production for the short term. Thinking long term here as this would be a nice pick.
