Factory Lines: Josh Gordon Suspension, Kevin Love, Zach Walters Home Run, Tom Hamilton’s HR Call, Johnny Manziel’s Advice to Ohio State

The verdict is apparently in for Josh Gordon, and it all depends on when appeal hearing officer Harold Henderson decides he want to release his decision.

That’s the latest from Adam Schefter, and it makes no sense, unless you subscribed to the theory the Factory blogged about Friday night.

Henderson’s decision is made up, so why not just get it over with already? Perhaps, he’s stalling for time, as Dawg Pound Nation reported because Gordon’s camp is threading the league with a lawsuit. Mayb  Henderson is waiting for the league and Gordon to reach an agreement.

Either way, it looks like this summer-long drama will finally play out one way or another sooner than later.

Kevin Love posed with his starter billboard, which makes me think about two things. Starter still makes NBA licensed apparel? And does my Mom still have my 1993 Cavs starter pullover somewhere in her basement. I think she does. Be ready for a photo when that treasure is finally unearthed.

• Tribe fans will quickly learn that Zach Walters will swing and miss enough times to generate more green energy than the windmills on Lake Erie.

And that won’t matter as long as he keeps connecting like he did on a two-run shot in the 10th inning to lift the Tribe over the White Sox last night. Walters’ was actually supposed to bunt, but couldn’t get it down, so manager Terry Francona had to settle for the long ball instead.

Tom Hamilton was quick to offer advice to Walters, telling him to “forget about the bunt!” as his mooonshot left US Cellular Field.

T.J. House couldn’t protect a three-run first inning lead. The outing was a huge disappointment, because starting pitching is so critical as the Tribe tries to make up ground.

House surrendered five runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings. He walked one and struck out four.

• The victory marked the first time this season the Indians have gone four games over the .500 mark, however the standings have gone unchanged. The Tribe still trays the Royals by 5 1/2 in the Central, and the Mariners by 4 1/2 for the final Wild Card Spot.

Johnny Manziel weighed in on the changes at the Ohio State quarterback position, and why wouldn’t he? He’s Johnny Football.

Kyrie Irving should be the starter for the United States, evidenced by this Vine of the 2011 No. 1 overall pick doing mean things to Slovenia during Team USA’s final tuneup for the FIBA World Cup Tuesday afternoon.

Chris Sheridan, of Sheridan Hoops, agrees with the assessment that Irving has earned the starting job over Derrick Rose.

"“Folks in Chicago do not want to hear the truth, but the truth is this: Derrick Rose has not looked very good except for a couple of very brief stretches..Coach K told Marc Stein of ESPN.com that he was considering alternating Irving and Rose as starters when the World Cup begins. At this point, that would be silly. Irving is clearly the superior player right now.”"

• Johnny Manziel is bummed that his friend Braxton Miller is going to miss the upcoming season. The future of the Browns even offered advice to redshirt freshman replacement, J.T. Barrett.

"“I’d say rely on your coaches, rely on what they’re telling you and most of all, have fun and go out and play football like you did in high school and like you’ve been doing for your whole life.”"

If this quarterbacking thing doesn’t work out, Johnny Football may have a future as Johnny Football Coach.
