Mitchell Schwartz Unchallenged

Mitchell Schwartz was pegged as the “weak link” in the offensive line by Monday Night Football analyst and Super Bowl winning coach John Gruden, yet the former second-round pick from Cal has better job security than Andrew Luck.

Schwartz, who has never missed a snap in his career, seemed to be on the outs with the BanBardi regime, but somehow fell into favor withFarmer and Pettine. It’s just surprising he’s gone unchallenged.

Schwartz played so poorly last season, that NFLDraftScout.com has the Browns replacing him with their first pick in the 2015 draft.

It might be a little early to be targeting right tackle for next spring’s draft, but why Schwartz is so entrenched at the position is something only known to Pettine and Farmer.
