The hand-picked third-round selection of Mike Holmgren, McCoy was supposed to end the revolving door of Cleveland quarterbacks.

He came to Cleveland as college football’s winningest quarterback, but he just didn’t have the body to persevere in the NFL.

His last game for the Browns came in 2012, when he took a concussion inducing hit from Steelers’ linebacker James Harrison. He left for two plays, but the clueless Browns coaching staff put him back into the game. Ouch.

McCoy seemed optimistic heading into the 2013 campaign, tweeting warm welcomes when the Browns drafted Trent Richardson with the No. 3 overall pick. But his Twitter account went silent when Mike Holmgren and company drafted Bandon Weeded with the No. 22 overall pick a couple hours later.

McCoy, who has not yet authored a biography of his time in Cleveland, but probably will soon, recently started some games in Washington D.C. in place of Robert Griffin III.

Unfortunately, McCoy succumbed to another injury last week, and is questionable to play for the Redskins in Week 15.
