5. Thanks For The Memories, J.T.

The Ohio State Buckeyes didn’t lose just one Heisman candidate to injury during the 2014 season, they lost two!
After Braxton Miller’s shoulder prohibited him from starting the season, Ohio State and Urban Meyer turned their attention to redshirt sophomore J.T. Barrett.

After a rocky start, which included a Week 2 loss to Virginia Tech, Barrett took the college football world by storm, finishing fifth in the final Heisman Trophy voting.

Shortly after breaking Drew Brees‘ Big Ten record for total touchdowns (Barrett had 45 to Brees’ 42) against Michigan, Barrett broke his ankle and missed the Big Ten Championship.

Cardale Jones bailed the Buckeyes out, but Ohio State has Alabama next, and while Jones had success against Michigan State, Ohio State fans would welcome Barrett back in a heartbeat.
