2013 Regional Final: Wichita State 70, Ohio State 66

The 2012-2013 Buckeyes won’t go down as one of the strongest Buckeye units of all time, but it was a squad with talent.

Unfortunately, Ohio State ran into Cinderella–No. 9 seed Wichita State– in the regional final, and dug itself a 20-point second-half deficit it wasn’t able to overcome.

The Buckeyes seemed out of rhythm to start that game, as Deshaun Thomas made just three of his first 12 shots. He missed his first five overall. Aaron Craft–never known for his shooting–was also dismal, going 2-of-12 from the floor.  As a team, OSU missed their first seven shots to start the contest–not a recipe for advancing.

The Buckeyes would eventually cut the Shockers’ lead to three, but that’s as class as Ohio State would get from ripping the glass slipper away from Cinderellla.
