Most Disappointing: Carlos Santana

Who’s been more disappointing than Carlos Santana? Enter July 11, he was batting .219. Yeah, he walks a lot, but he did little to invigorate the lineup in the clean up spot, and has just 38 RBIs.

His ineffectiveness to hit extra-base hits and drive in runs forced Terry Francona to drop him in the order.

Tito’s had to march David Murphy out into the No. 4 hole on some occasions.. That’s the terrible state of the Indians’ clean-up spot.

The Tribe was counting on Carlos–and let the team down. There’s still time to recover–because as we’ve seen, Santana is capable of getting hot. But the Indians needed some sort of consistency and Carlos didn’t supply it.
