Ricky Gutierrez had the monumental task of taking over for Roberto Alomar after signing with the Tribe as a free agent on Dec. 17, 2001. Unfortunately, he couldn’t stay healthy and played in just 94 games. He slashed .275/.325/.346.

That cleared the way for a highly touted prospect…but as Indians fans remember…it didn’t end well.
