What Becomes Of Johnny Manziel?
Josh McCown figures to be the Week 1 starter, but don’t underestimate the Manziel storyline.
Does he look like an NFL quarterback? Can he read a defense? Did an offseason treatment program get him on the right track to mentally handling the job of an NFL starting quarterback?
All these questions will be asked until Manziel plays. If he doesn’t get on the field, the logical answer to all of these questions, is no.
Johnny Football’s still a former first-round pick who’s only played six professional quarters. Granted, his time on the field was ugly, it shouldn’t cement him as a bust, just yet.
The Browns plan looks to be rushing the ball–a lot. That can be beneficial to a player such as Manziel. If he proves capable of making a player here or there while the team effectively runs the ball, there may be a place in Cleveland for the former Heisman winner.
