Cleveland Browns Offense
As I said before, the Jets regime is really similar to that of the Cleveland Browns. Because of that, you can expect them to play a similar game. That’s exactly what the Browns want.
The game on Sunday will likely be a slow and low scoring game and as long as it remains that way, it’ll remain in the Browns grasp. The Browns know they are not capable of putting up 30+ points most games. However they are more than capable of holding an opposing offense to less than 21 points in the majority of games. I expect that will be the case this Sunday against a struggling Jets offense.
The Browns offense will have their hands full moving the ball against one of the best secondaries they’ll face throughout the season. Josh McCown looked decent in the preseason, but he has had his struggles and I anticipate those struggles showing up yet again against a top tier Jets defense.
The run game however has shown consistent signs of improvement through each game and it will be relied on heavily to move the ball against the Jets. Isaiah Crowell will start Sunday and have a big workload with Terrance West in Tennessee. Duke Johnson will also see playing time after he recently passed concussion protocol.
With Crowell healthy and Johnson coming off of a concussion, Shaun Draughn should be brought up from the Browns practice squad for this game in New Jersey. All three backs are going to have to ease McCown’s workload as much as possible if the Browns want a chance at beating New York.
