3. Better Quarterback Play

If you think Cardale Jones has something to prove after a less than stellar start against Hawaii, you’d be right.

The Rainbow Warriors employed a 3-4 defense that was constantly changing and it was difficult for Jones to pick up blitzes.

Northern Illinois employs a 4-3 “attack style defense,” which should make life a little easier on Jones. Also look for Cardale to pile up some more yards on the ground.

The man known as 12-Gauge rushed for 99 yards against Virginia Tech, and just five against Hawaii!

Jones isn’t the same runner J.T. Barrett is–he’s not as quick–but he can run. His ability to extend and create plays with his legs is what makes Jones especially dangerous, and there’s no reason to think the Huskies will be able to holster 12-Gauge.
