A Change At QB For The Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns are about as scrambled as any team in the NFL is right now. Starting QB Josh McCown is currently going through concussion protocol after getting spun in the air on his first drive with the Browns (gotta love the dedication though).

While many people were expecting to see Johnny Manziel start at some point during the 2015 season, I doubt many expected him to do just that in the first game at FirstEnergy Stadium.

That’s okay though!

I’m comfortable with Manziel getting the start Sunday and you should be too. While Manziel was turnover happy against the Jets, he did throw for 182 yards and a TD. The Jets defense is light years ahead of the one he will face this upcoming Sunday.

One thing that also really impressed me about Manziel’s performance was his decision-making. No longer was Manziel hesitating to get the ball out or trying to run through defenders.

Instead Manziel was throwing the ball on time and sliding or getting out of bounds when he scrambled. That is exactly the kind of progression Manziel needed to make this past offseason and it seems as if he has passed that test so far.

I’m confident he will do great Sunday as long as he is a bit more careful with the ball. This might very well be Manziel’s coming out party.
